It sounds like the beginning of some kind of new post-apocalyptical thriller. A hearty band of passengers board a train from Birmingham New Street at 22:15 and leave the station heading for Nottingham ways however the "Next station" sign never changes from Birmingham New street then after about 20 minutes there is an almight crash, the train begins to slow and eventual grinds to a halt.

The staff dash around referring cryptically to an 'incident' and inform the passengers that they don't know how long it will take to get going again.
The passengers laugh and joke about their impending 'deaths' believing it will never come... little do they know... EEEP!! :(

Yeah we're stranded. :(

It's amazing how work life after Clientlogic can be a real eye opener. I've been at Océ/Rolls-Royce since March and recently got a Christmas bonus of £250 regardless of the fact I haven't even been there a full year. I also got a pay rise of 2.6percent which was the maximum rise awarded to anyone.

Granted that's only and extra £300 odd a year but it's an annual thing so next year and the year after I could get more.

What's this feeling...? Job satisfaction... Quick must ring 'Search'. I think they owe me 4 years worth of this stuff. :p

Whilst on the subject of good news, in a few days time I will officially be a published writer as I have short 250 word review in issue #29 of Neo Magazine. The review is for a horrible Manga called 'Strawberry Marshmallow' and I got paid £20 for it.
Although it's small it means I'll have been published professionally. *glee*

Anyway off the back of that I have been asked to do another 250 word review for issue #30, this time it's an Anime called 'Le Portrait De Petite Cossette' which will get me another £20. Assuming I keep up my hard work I figure that a review or two a month plus regular job will net me a nice little bit of extra cash each month and mebbe I can even do some larger reviews but for now it's like 'they' say :

"Slowly, slowly catchy Monkey."

Also Becky's Birthday / Party soon... Should be interesting (*prays for no family scraps*), got myself some new clothes for it the other day as apparantly I'm not allowed to turn up to her 21st as a tramp... Should have had a costume party. *grumble grumble*

06:25	Arrived on site still feeling quite sleepy.	Logged into Command Centre 3 to take a look at all the work that was left behind after Tara's absence yesterday. Realised that there was quite a lot to do, so decided that a smoke and coffee was the best approach.
06:32	Returned from the fag shed still trying to regain focus after my five hours of deep sleep.	Completed reports for yesterday and prepared all spreadsheets for the final day as a command centre analyst.
07:03	BP was acting up while trying to run the absence report for yesterday.	Decided to open multiple BP windows and leave them to run a report while I went to have a regular morning discussion with John in security. Followed by a really strong coffee and a fag (Glad I picked up an extra 10 pack of fags, I think I will need them today).
07:20	Started to regain my eyesight and finally my brain had started to work after a flat battery this morning.	Started to process all the emails that had been delivered to CC during the evening of the 11th and decided another fag would be required to get this completed.
07:59	Returned from the fag shed and my thoughts where next time take a coat cause it's freezing out there.	Business lines opened on ICM, now with today's technology this should be automatically done. I am having to keep an eye on how many agents are logging in and setting the lines accordingly and believe it or not this system probably costs more than a Ferrari F50 and a 6 bed roomed house with it's own lake and heli pad.
08:15	Now being approached by agents that have completed 1.5hrs of training for business that should have received 3 weeks of training and they have no application logins and now want to return to retail call's…	My Reply: Well you will be F****ed tomorrow as business call's are what you will be taking, but as a kind gesture changed them to skill 58.
08:20	No CL TC's or PS's on the call centre floor at all, now how do they all manage to get weekends off and work 9-5….hmmmm	Agents that should have support now taken off-line and skills changed to 23 so they can assist the rest of the floor by giving URL's for interesting browsing and game playing.
08:30	Realised it was my last day on the CC desk and the Ehandover report has been quite blank for the last few weeks.	Decided to give a much more detailed report than we normally do (Just for fun).
08:57	1 live call on each campaign Business/Retail	I am now feeling more awake, eyesight that could spot a needle on the floor @ 50 yards. All CC work updated and complete. Now thinking about breakfast, best decisions are made over a fag and a coffee (Be back soon).
09:09	Returned from fag shed	Feeling quite hungry and ordered a double sausage/egg muffin meal from Mcdee's
09:15	Search Consultancy	This must be the 50th time I have been asked if search are going to be in today, how the F**k do I know, I don't sleep with any of the them and my name is not mystic meg.
09:17	Looked at lucent	We have 29 staff available across campaigns of which 5 are on call's and the rest browsing and chatting.
09:19	Approached by Cat Plant to see if I am going for a fag	I really cannot stomach another fag till breakfast has been consumed to which I declined the offer.
09:22	Checked e-mail's	Received 5 AWOL e-mail's from SID, so much for a quiet last day on the CC desk hey. Now SID know that the agents is AWOL and send this to CC desk, we update BP and then send the email to the employer and TC. Would this process be much more simple if SID had write access to BP and update it themselves and send the email to employer/TC rather than CC desk having to receive the email from SID and then following procedure.
09:34	Shift report request from agent Robbie Paul	Is this not a TC's/PS's job to produce shift reports for their agents. Suppose I will have to give him his shifts as he would be AWOL'ed next week and that means more work to be done by the CC desk/SID.
09:43	Breakfast having arrived, quick look at lucent and not much happening	I am now going to go and eat, possible fag afterwards along mith my orange juice provided with breakfast…
09:59	Call from Alness CC, cold transfers for business	They have been receiving cold transfers from Derby which has caused their SL to drop to 50%, walked round the agents on business and none of them are man enough to own up to the cold transfers. No surprise there hey..
10:18	Really getting bored now!	Wondering how the hell I am going to get home, snowing really heavy and I have to travel to Buxton. Lets just hope the gritters have been out

'Day of Lasts'

Today is a day of lasts... well today and yesterday.
Being my last day of work, last night was the last time my dad will ever pick me up from here and today is the last day he will ever have to give me a lift to this cruddy yet charming building.

Yesterday is also likely to be the last day I'd get to see many of my friends such as Neil, Kayliegh, Jodie, Dan, Robin ... yeah I'll even miss Robin plus the list goes on.

There are some 'lasts' that I wont miss though, foremost being talking to customers about their inane problems and teaching them how to use their own computers correctly.

Another thing I wont miss is the general state of grammar and English usage from certain agents here.
I'll post some examples of other peoples leaving messages to illustrate the point.

Last (see another last) but not least I will not miss the E-Mails like this sent out by a guy in this callcentre to the whole distribution list :

This is not a farewell email as such but more importantly an invitation to ISLAM and this is the greatest gift I can give you from the deepest of my heart. Many of you will know me, some of you people will like me and others with hate me for the ideas and thoughts I carry and for many I was just a stranger.

This is just the first paragraph there are a good number more 'inviting' me to this Islam party thing... should I be R.S.V.Ping???

I should have just deleted the E-Mail there and then and but I thought I'd give it a read and not judge it too quickly :

As I have discussed with many people here and will continue to discuss and convey the message of Islam to millions and billions as part and parcel of my life. Many here have sat and discussed many ideas and concepts that emanate from the Islamic creed and I thank you all for taking your time out and discussing and sharing your ideas and thoughts with me.

At least he's literate if you don’t mind the duplicate usage of words in a sentence.
Plus discussing your Religion isn't a crime so fair play. I myself continue to discuss and convey the message of my favourite comics, computer games and movies to anyone who wants to listen. :)

As we all exit ClientLogic one by one we MUST also remember one day we will exit this world and will be brought forth and the only religion, ideology, way of life that will be excepted will be ISLAM.

Wow... loss of friends and thoughts of death on the same day, if I join this Islam thing and happen to die before my membership card arrives what happens then?

Islam is a complete and divine way of life different from all other beliefs, customs and traditions. Islam is not like other religions; it provides answers to every problem that you could possibly face in your life, for you as an individual or for society. Islam elevates the human being from the worship of material things to the exclusive worship and obedience of Allah.

Maybe there could be some sort of system where if other religions wanted to obtain these answers you could send them some sort of fact sheet, share the love and all that. *shrugs* Just a suggestion. :)

Islam teaches that one should only become a Muslim through conviction after study and careful contemplation. The basis and foundation of Islam is not built upon blind faith or conjecture; in fact, any human being, after using their faculties of reason and senses, can easily arrive at the conclusion that Islam is the truth.

... this doesn't deserve it's own response, I'll lump it with the next paragraph's response ...

"How does one go about doing this?" you may ask. Well to start with, fundamentally any human being should ask the following questions, "Where did I come from?", "What am I here for (i.e. what is my true purpose and objective in this life?)", and lastly, "Where am I going to when I die?" As a necessity for life to continue, these questions must be answered as leaving them unanswered will inevitably drive you insane.

My first question was more along the lines of "Is the core of Islam religion really that it is the only true religion and that all other religions are wrong?". If there's one thing I can't stand in people and religions alike it's conceit. Conceit is in my mind a huge factor in most of mankind's (not the wrestler) follies.

As for going insane the trick is to settle temporarily on an answer that stops your brain from going haywire such as.

Q) Where did I come from?
A) My mum and dad did the nasty and I was the result.

Q) What am I here for?
A) Propogation of the human species, to be a symbol of your parents’ love, to ‘make phat dollar’... whatever it is for the individual.

Q) Where am I going to when I die?
A) Whether you use the same terms or not in general it will come down to one of three choices, Heaven, Hell or nowhere.

No one can know the answers to these questions and the human brain is quite good at protecting itself so will usually pick some answers that feel right at that time.
These tide you over till you come to other thoughts etc.
I'm sure lots of people go through life without concrete answers and stay relatively sane. :)

As a human being with a sane mind, you have the ability to think using your "faculties of reason" and the ability to taste, smell, touch, hear, and see with your senses which were given to you by Allah (God). By using these tools in the correct manner and linking them with what you have been taught or your previous experiences and also your previous information, one is able to understand the reality and from this one can arrive at thought.

I have very little idea what this paragraph is meant to convey, I was born with the abilities mentioned, they were handed on by my mother and father along with my poor eye sight and skin condition, did Allah/God give me those wonderful gifts too? Thanks bunches. :)

The unique thing about Islam is that nobody persuades you that it is correct, rather you, yourself proves that it is the truth by using this process of thinking.

This E-Mail wasn't an attempt at persuasion... see to me this E-Mail sans persuasion = "I follow Islam... it's not a closed religion", yet this was followed up with "Islam is the Truth" and "If you don't follow up Death is the end for you."... I'm really glad they didn't try and persuade me other wise this entry would be even more bigger than it already is. :p

Islam offers true peace and inner tranquillity by complete submission to the will of the Creator (Allah) and not to his creation from such likes as money, women, desires, a football team, movie or enjoyment etc.

I'm down with that, it's cool that people have that type of commitment to their faith, monks, nuns etc... but it's not for me thanks.

The message has reached you. The challenge is clear, ISLAM IS THE TRUTH AND WE BRING YOU INTELLECTUAL PROOF.

The only intellectual thing I've gleaned from any of this is that 'Science + Faith / Religion = Questions'

All I ask you is to open your heart and mind for the truth and by the will of Allah (God) you will see it. If anyone would like to discuss, dialogue, debate on Islam then I am willing to do so because I am fully convinced on an intellectual basis that Islam is the truth.

On a lighter not though I just received and E-Mail from Alan who's just left for the last time, he worked on the Command Centre and every morning around this time has to send off a morning report to the site managers etc to let them know what’s been going on all morning.

Well it seems he was as bored as me because he decided to record everything down to the last letter.

I'll post in another entry what he sent around to everyone as it's kind of amusing, I'd love to see what happens when BT management see it. :)

For now that's one entry down. :)

Well guys and girls, I'm once again on the MSF desk so apart from the obligatory early bastard start (7am) it means I have a bit of time to get my lazy ass in gear and write another entry fo your enjoyment.

I haven't been home or spoken to my mum since I posted last, I will be going home tonight tho so I guess we'll see what happens. On the moving out front, well there's been developments.
The guy who's place I was supposed to be taking and living with Jodie has decided to stay on another year, Jodie doesn't really like him and so her and her friend Carry have found a place in Alvaston to move into for slightly more a month.
It's a proper house tho and so is really nice, it's also 3 bedroomed so they should hopefully be moving in in the next month at which point once they've settled they'll be wanting someone to take the other room and pay some of the rent so I should still have a place to move two with friends Woot!!!

It's in Alvaston granted... not quite as cool as being able to just walk round the corner to work but it still a hell of a lot closer and easier to get to than Swadlincote. LOL
Good thing is the rent should only come to about £160 a month which is roughly what I'm supposed to pay at home.

*keeps fingers crossed for the possibility of moving out next month*

Anyway onto more recent awesomeness.
Yesterday I went to Alton Towers with Becky, Gemma, Emily and Dave. It could have done with being slightly sunnier but at least it didn't rain and wasn't TOO cold. :D
Most of this next section is ripped off from Becky's LJ as I can't be arsed to try and remember things LOL :

Arrived and got our tickets in time for park opening.
Hit 'Rita: Queen of Speed' first as the queues get massive so we quick walked over to Ugland and joined the queue which only lasted for about 15-20mins.
Sure its really fast and crazy but after the initial acceleration it's really crappy.
Then we went on the 'Corkscrew' which was a yawn fest apart from when when it finished and everybodys restraints came up except for Beckys. I couldn't help but laugh and felt really bad for doing so after wards. Guess it serves her right, when we sat on the ride she told me she thought one of the ride operators was hot. This ride operator then had to straddle her in order to try and yank her free. LOL
Bless her, she had a few other ickle tumble bear moments that day too. :D

We all went on Hex which is just strange but really impressive in its engineering before heading to X sector. I pigged out on over priced KFC and sat with gemma and Emily whilst Dave and Becky dashed off to 'Submission' (like the kids they are).

'Oblivion'... or as I like to call it 'Disappointion'... (LAAAAME!), came next. It needs to have some twists and turns and suchs before and after the drop... but ah well.

Becky, Emily and Myself then went on The Flume which was awesome, I was sammiched nice and tightly in between both of the two very pretty ladies. In a bath tub, tucked inside a girls legs... with another girl between mine... P... I... M... P!!!!

Anyway on the flume Becky tried to cheat by putting her hoody over her to keep her dry so I stopped her and made her get wet lol. Rapids came next but no one got too wet.

Emily and Becky then went off to a ride and she left me with the orders of :

"Go win me a teddy!"

Dave and I played on House of the Dead3 and did pretty well while Gemma watched and laughed at us and called us nerds.I then decided to go take a crack at one of the impossible games... my particular love and poison being basketball I headed stairght to the nearest hoop game thing.
The ones with the ring only slightly larger than the balls... the hoop at something like 12 foot high and about the same distance away.

It was £2 for three shots and I managed to hit it on my last attempt (9th shot), I don't think the guy and Dave and Gemma thought I could make the shot... the first 8 were mainly practice shots to get the distance and such right and to shake off the cobwebs.
The one that went in was just perfect... a thing of beauty... *sigh* :)

Anyway won a big Spongebob Square Pants teddy for my lady and then continued the streak by beating everyone on Duel (the ride photo shall be scanned in later :D ).
From there we finished the day at Nemesis, I went on twice but then sat out of the third time with gemma and Emily as my tooth was hurting and it really was the only bad part of the day. I think i have a wisdom tooth coming through and it hurts so much I can't concentrate. :(

OS anyway we got back to Beckys around 7ish and crahsed out for a while before going to the Nag's Head for some food (my treat). After an extremely nice meal and lots of embarrassment every time our smootching was interrupted by one of the waitress' we headed back to her house and spooned for a while watching Miss Congeniality 2 (which for the record is pants, no where near as good as number one.).

I arrive home aroun midnight last night and crashed straight out ready for the 7am start this morning.
All in all it was an excellent day... <3

I need to move out... I really do I mean like now.
I need to see if Jodie can find out what the fuck is happening with her house mat vus if he aint gone soon I'm just gonna have to find a place.

Came on tonight and my mum's proper on my back... she's seen a pay slip from last week and was saying like how she thought I was on 180 a week or whatever... which i basically am... she sees the gross figure and assumes that what I'm gettign (moron). So she's bugging ove that, and me gettign a taxi to A&K's the other day when I missed the bus. Then she was saying how she bought me new clothes for the wedding the toher day... which she did... but she insisted on it at the time. I told her I'd buy them myself from Nottingham.
She was insistant tho.

She has a point in that I haven't paid rent for a few weeks but it'll be on the shelf tomorrow... the sooner I move out the better.
She gets a bee in her bonnet about something and then just brings out random things.
Like a few mins ago she mentioned when we was at the wedding me getting upset about something my sister said about my dad.
Firstly I was upset that they tried to brign me into the shit. I appreciate what he did was shitty but they've both rebuilt their lives now. At first mums words were like she was being cool about it but now it's like she's saying I'm not allowed to like my dad otherwise I don't give a shit about her.
I hate being put in the middle of my mums/sisters/ dads shit

See I'd wanted to rant... I would have preferred it to be a more cohesive and thorough rant that showed signs of the writers self assurance and belief in what he wrote but I'm just too pissed off for words at the moment. I just wnat to be in a different place at a different time. :(

I'm feeling slightly better now.
I left this morning and rang Jodie from the bus to see if she had my money with her at work, she did and she asked if I got the message from 'Ammo' asking me to cover the MSF desk.

I didn't get it and so went into work got the money and told 'Ammo' no, there's no way i could have faced a 15:00 - 23:00 shift tonight.
So anyway I met up with Teresa, we had 2 games of pool in the Bless and I was drinking coke, from there we decided to go get some towel sand to go sun bathe in Darley Park.

It was a lovely day, not too busy either. I'm fed up of only having a nice tan/skin on my lower arms so I swallowed my fears and took of my shirt and bathed topless in the middle of Darley Park. Not a great deal really unless your a women... but I'm really paranoid about my body.

It aint the nicest example of a body even without all my psoriasis. Sun is good for psoriasis and I really managed to catch some decent rays today.

We stayed sun bathing from about 2:30 till 6:30 stopping in between for ice cream and such and then we went home.

It was a really nice day and really de-stressed me.
Teresa is good company but Becky's absence on the lovely day sorta reminded me how lucky I am to 'have' her. I hope she wants to meet on Tuesday and am HUUUUUUUGEELY looking forward to Thursday when we're going to Alton Towers. :D

Anyway, my lil tumble bear should be homes soon, wont get to talk to her for long tho. Ash asked me to come round tonight and keep him company, he lets me drop round and stay pretty much whenever I need to so its the leat I can do. We're gonna watch a film or two and catch up... it hasn't been too long but it seems like ages since I've been round.

It's been a few days so time for another updaterooney.
Today was my first day off since last Thursday, worked all the way through and so I've had nothign really to report.

Decided not to go to EMAG tonight, I was really tired after spendign the day with Becky so just didn't feel like it to be honest.
My day with becky was nice, we had a lil err... turbulence at one point but we got through it fine.

The turbulence was over me being a sore looser. We went to the Namoc Arcade in Nottingham. Had a nice go on the derby Owners Club (becki has her own horsey on it now... NERD!!! :p) and then she was battering me at Tekken5 and I get quite competetive and such on those kinda games. I don't realise I do i really but I start kinda trash talking / making excuses and such and I don't mean to.
Well Becky took it to heart, so we went and talked it out in the square in Nottingham.

After that we managed to have a nice day, despite the heat and such, the day ended fairly early, we was back in Derby for 4:30ish and Becky went home for Bangers and Mash (the poor fish!!!) and I met my mum so she could buy me a some trousers and some shirts for my cousins wedding which is tomorrow.

I had a suit somewhere but I just don't know where it is so I called on mum and her almoghty flexible friend to get me some new stuff.
I have Black trousers and a very faint pink shirt with a cool tie for the ceremony and then for the reception I have some trousers that are kinda between cream and brown... lol (I'm a man I dont do more than 8 colours unless they're pre-fixed with dark or light etc.) and a light blackish short sleeved shirt.

I'm sure Becky will post more about the specifics of the day - although she's prolly nerding off over Rollercoaster Tycoon at the moment - so for now I'm gonna just go get something to eat as I've just finished watchign 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' again.

it's sooooo funny... I'd forgotten how funny. :D

I've been listening to 'The future freaks me out' more than any other song laely, it's just so cool and fun and happy. Kinda makes me bounce along the street like an idiot... LOL

Well anyway the sun has returned and is glorious however I am at work currently.
As I missed my bus this morning I had to get Graham (my step dad) to gimme a lift to town which meant I was really early and so had a chance to wander around enjoying the weather.

Also on my breaks I've been leaving the premises and going for a wander, need to grab as many rays as possible.

Anyway chatted for a while with Becky earlier, work was going a bit shitty so I'm sooo glad she was there to take me away from it all by just talking to her on messenger.
However now she's at vonnie87s birthday BBQ so I'm all lonely trying to idle away the next hour before I can leave.

Oooooh!!! BRB!! (I need the toilet.)

I've started reading a book recently called 'White Wolf' written by David Gemmell and am really enjoying it, it's been a while since my book of choice has been a 'Fantasy' book... closest I remember was 'The Gunslinger' written by Stephen King but I'm fairly glad with my choice of book. So much so that I want to get the follow up 'The Swords of Night and Day' once I have finished.

Also on the list is 'Shogun' by James Clavell as this is one of my favourite books of all time and I'm starting to feel the reading bug again. :)

This next week should be quite good, am at work tomorrow however Tuesday I am off, not sure what i'm goign to do tho, as Becky said in her LJ we may meet up. Graham was on about going to the Snooker club to play and I need to see my dad... will prolly do that Wednesday night after work and stay over til Thursday afternoon. I can go straight from his to meet Becky, Fiona and Dan to go see Finch at RockCity.
:)

Can't wait.
Anyway... back to work. :)
